I run three Qi-Gong retreats each year at the Origins Centre in Balingup, offering a gentle introduction to the Shi-Ba-Shi system. Designed for beginners, these retreats provide an accessible overview of the foundational eighteen movements — simple, flowing forms that invite awareness back into the body and harmony into the breath.
Each four-day immersion unfolds through gentle movement, breath, and reconnection with the lush forests surrounding the Centre. It’s an opportunity to slow down and return to the body — to settle into the rhythm beneath it all through flowing practice, forest stillness, firelight, and shared meals. We weave movement with rest: sound meditations beneath the trees, traditional wood-fired saunas, and bushwalks through the surrounding forest. Every retreat is a chance to unwind and attune to the quiet harmony of the earth.

Qi-Gong Practice
An introductory experience in the art of Qi-Gong, exploring the foundational eighteen movements of Shi-Ba-Shi. Accessible and grounding, these gentle sequences guide you into the rhythm of breath, body, and earth – awakening energy and softening the nervous system with calm, flowing presence.
Wood-Fired Sauna
A nourishing way to unwind each day – warmth seeping into the muscles, steam rising, the body releasing tension as the mind settles like mist over the valley.
Time in Nature
Spacious time to walk, rest, and reconnect with the land. Slow mornings, quiet afternoons, and a group bushwalk along the Bibbulmun Track – moving gently through forest and open sky, letting the bush speak in its own unhurried way.
Didgeridoo Sound Meditations
Evening sessions beneath the trees, where breath becomes vibration and the earth hums through the body. A grounded, resonant practice guided by the land, inviting deep presence and stillness.
Simple Teachings & Guided Presence
Soft, embodied teachings that invite awareness back into the body – settling the mind, loosening the grip of thought, and returning to a place of ease and flow. Slow conversations, gentle guidance, and space to simply be.
